Retro Jordan 5 Fusion Grape

As many of you know, a Fusion is a mix of an Air Jordan upper with an Air Force 1 sole. Another Fusions Jordans are coming this year. This model sports the usual mix of the two, however, the sole is mainly translucent like the original Jordan V. Though the Air Jordan Fusion 5 first released some time ago in white/grape ice/new emerald colorway, a new colorway has surfaced for later this year. Donning the colorway of the historic “Grape” Air Jordan Vs, this Fusion will drop mid-October.

The midsole is wrapped in purple leather, which shows off a teal jagged design in the middle, taking an obvious cue from the Air Jordan V. The upper is entire white, using leather all over with bits of plastic in the quarter panel and on the ankle strap. The tongue is also purple and teal while the liner is black, matching the embroidery near the heel. An icy outsole finishes this Fusion.

The Fusion line mixes the “best of both worlds” by taking classic Jordan uppers and putting them on Air Force 1 soles. This AJF 5 goes with an icy AF1 sole, with black rails on the toe and heel. Although the sole construction is definitely from an AF1, the translucence is a Jordan V touch since this was the first Jordan model to use clear rubber on the outsole. The AJF 5 also has Jordan’s 23 stitched onto the medial side near the heel, a detail that was only included on select OG Jordan V’s.
